Purchased my 1st PCGS coin

Well I finally bought a slabbed coin, which has been graded by PCGS, who I consider to be very reputable. :proud: Take a look; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=8397766417

I'm definately not a numismics kinda guy, but you got a good deal on that. I would have bought it at that price too. Nice score!

Don't know much about'em, but she's a beauty! Better yet, you'll probably break even on that one either this year or next in terms of POG. I've been wanting to get one of those older gold coins, St Gauden or something, maybe not a particularly collectible one. I also want one of the new buffalo bullion coins when they come out.

I'm pretty stoked that I bought $10 face of dimes for 7x spot today, and $2.80 of that was Mercurys! :) Some of it is a little worn compared to what I normally get but a lot of it is really nice. I love the Merc's and I love buying $10 silver!

Now all that I need to happen is that I recieve my coin without any problems. I am still reeling from a burn I just received on a ebay lot I purchased about two weeks ago. When I emailed the seller yesterday asking where it is. This is the email I received from her;.....

Congrats Silverwood, I made my first numismatic purchase this weekend. Bought it at a coin show. Wife and I drove the dealers nuts going back and forth looking for the best deal. She found a 1/10th oz for $60. I found a 1/2 oz for an even $300. Mine was in one of those graded slabs as well. Really enjoyed the coin show approach.

I generally do not buy slabbed coins, however I manage to buy proof coins at or near spot, or for the same premium for size as the bullion coins.

So I get a nice shiny pretty coin to look at and hold cuz as Ponce says "if it ain't in your hands, it ain't yours"

Just took another look at my 1/2 oz coin. It is in a slab says PCGS MS69 on the label. So I take it that $300 was not a bad deal. Best I could do on a 1/2 oz w/o the slab was $295 + 6.75% tax at the coin show.
